A Brush With The Coast

You can look towards little shops and houses along the sea-front are waiting to welcome you.

Dive into a colour-filled world:

As with all her paintings Kerry has carefully curated her colour palette. As in this seascape naïve painting, I’m certain when you imagine the seaside you conjure up a scene of warmth and peacefulness. Which is exactly what is captured here. Similarly with a gentle swipe of the brush she has used colours which contrast to those in the layers underneath. This in turn highlights of colour serve to enhance the way the light is playing on the water in the bay.

The tones and colours in the water are echoed in the coloured houses depicted along the sea-shore. In the gentle arms of the Harbour wall itself you can imagine feeling cocooned against the wider reaches of the vast ocean beyond. Soft blues, creamy yellows and pinks are a twist on the primary colours of magenta cyan. In addtion these lend a balance to the light, tone and texture within the artwork.
