A Special Nighttime Wander Around This Cornish Cove
‘Stargazy’ a print of Port Isaac at Night, is a beautiful recreation of the painting of the same name. The title is in reference to the famous Cornish dish and in turn its fishing heritage, on which the village was built.
This delightful depiction of the harbour at night painted by British Naïve Artist Kerry Shearer displays the beauty and the stillness of a starry coastline. Kerry has beautifully captured in this wonderful landscape painting, the character of the place. You can see it at a very peaceful hour. Its easy to imagine walking down the quiet lanes. With all the tourists have gone you get the chance to immerse yourself in the wonder that such a magical night could bring.
Seeing Stars
Millions of stars guide you through the streets as you take a wander along the harbourside past the whitewashed cottages of fishermen from days gone by or past the homes of Doc Martin and Louisa from the famous TV show.
Coastal blues and whites have been used to great effect both contrasting and complimenting each other. Kerry’s colour palette is as always, carefully selected. Here it is for maximum impact in re-creating the atmosphere of this gorgeous little port. She captures it perfectly in this scene.
Her whimsical work always contains a magical mystical quality as its style lends itself to a feeling of joyful irreverence, for its disregarding of perspective and accuracy. Furthermore her playing with lines and composition beyond the expected norm keeps you coming back for more. This image is no exception but Stargazy as a print of Port Isaac at Night, is exceptional!
